Remedies For Pustular Adult Acne On Nose And Chin

Acne is one of the most common skin conditions people have. Pustular adult acne affects added number of adults nowadays than before.

Acne can appear almost anywhere on the body, but the nose and chin is particularly prone.

Pustular adult acne is seen primarily around the chin, cheeks and mouth, and might also affect the nose and the forehead (in rare cases).

Acne vulgaris is easily recognized by the presence of blackheads or whiteheads. It is a chronic skin condition that happens when the hair follicles and their associated glands become blocked with oil and get swollen.

Acne rosacea on the other hand is a type of a skin condition that affects the face. People with acne rosacea experience redness of the skin that can be long-lasting or short lived.

Acne rosacea is primarily characterized by excessive redness and widespread swelling. Its symptoms can start on the nose and spread to nearby areas of your face, such as your cheeks.

The nose may appear enlarged from inflammation, and pimples may in due course surface on top of the skin.

Nose acne can be caused by either acne vulgaris or acne rosacea. A good skincare routine can be vital to helping prevent both types of acne.

Symptoms Of Pustular Adult Acne

The condition often starts with blackheads on the nose. This can develop or erupt into pustules or pus filled bumps, which are usually quite painful, red and hard.

The center of the acne cysts has an opening, and popping the lump can bring the pus out. Unfortunately, popping it can also spread the acnes bacteria to nearby parts of the skin.

Adult acne pustules on chin, cheeks and nose usually subside on their own. Some women get pustular adult acne around the time of their monthly period, and coincidentally, this is also the time when their sugar cravings are higher.

This has caused some people to believe that chocolate and sugary items could trigger acne. Pustular acne often leaves behind unpleasant scars, which could take months to disappear.

Remedies For Treating Adult Pustular Acne

Steaming the facial skin regularly can help remove dirt and open up blocked pores. The steam helps removes oil, dirt and even blackheads.

To steam;

  • Simply place your face over a bowl of boiling water or
  • Use special steamers for facial steaming.

Essential Oils

Using some essential oils like tea tree oil or lavender oil on the acne pustules can help eliminate the bacteria causing the acne. If you are using pure oils, make sure you dilute the oils using some olive or coconut oil, as they are antibacterial and can help soothe the skin and reduce inflammation.

  • Allow the oil to sit on the pustular acne for up to 30 minutes,
  • Wash the face using a gentle, non-alcoholic cleanser.

Apply Some Calming Calamine Lotion

Calamine lotion can help reduce acne disfiguring.

To use;

  • Allow the lotion to remain on the acne pustules for 3-4 hours,
  • wash off the lotion afterward
  • follow this remedy two times each day.

Other kinds of home treatments may include:

  • Using a warm, wet washcloth to draw out oils,
  • apply ice to reduce swelling.
  • Use over-the-counter creams that contain benzoyl peroxide
  • Use pimple patches and swabs, or medicated facial cleansers

For more severe cases of inflammatory acne vulgaris, you may need to consult a dermatologist to prescribe stronger medications to help clear up your severe acne.

Products like creams, ointments, toners, scrubs, and cleansers can all help clear oils from the skin. As they do this, they help clear the clogged pores and kill any trapped bacteria.
